Monthly Reset Routine

The Ultimate Monthly Reset Routine

I LOVE having a monthly reset, it’s like having a mini New Year’s Resolution kick-start at the start of each month.

It’s a great way to take time to read through our monthly reset checklist, peek at our journal prompts, and do a little reflecting, goal-setting, and gratitude practice.

As another month winds down, let’s dive into the ultimate Monthly Reset Routine!

No.1 - Past Month Reflection

A Good Monthly Reset Starts With a Past Month Reflection –

It’s time to reflect, revise and reset. Let’s start by looking through the goals you have set for the past month.

Were these goals realistic? Could you easily incorporate them into your daily routines? Which goals did you succeed in and which goals did you struggle with?

If there are any goals you still want to achieve, that you have struggled with for the last month, that is absolutely okay. This is why reflection is so important. We can adjust our goals, heading into the new month, and figure out how we can still achieve the things we want.

For example, one of my goals for the last month was to completely cut out sugar. I realised this was actually really challenging, so instead I’m adjusting my goal to cutting out refined sugar 5 days per week.
vision board

No.2 - Monthly Vision Board

Okay, now that reflecting on last month is out of the way, we can focus on the fun stuff!

It’s time to start creating your vision board!

It’s time to set the mood with your favourite playlist or podcast, you can listen to The Cozy Corner” which is our podcast. Then head over to interest and start looking for some inspo for your vision board.

Remember this is your vision board, you can make it look however you like, think about what goals you want to set for yourself and start searching! For example, if you want to get into running, you would search for someone going out for a run and save the picture.

Once you have a fair few pictures saved, I’d say at least 10, then it’s time to create your board.

There are a few ways you can do this, my favourite is simply heading over to Canva, setting up a phone background, and just insert the pictures in a messy layout with an affirmation of the month in the middle.

Once I am happy with how my vision board looks, I’ll then copy it onto a desktop version. Then I have my background for my phone and desktop for the month. I love doing it this way as I will constantly be looking at my phone, and this is a great reminder of my goals

Another way to create your vision board, is to get yourself a corkboard and print all the pictures you want to use, then place it somewhere you’re going to see every day!

Creating vision boards is so much fun, they’re a great way to really envision the goals you want to set for the month.

No.3 - Monthly Priorities

If you are struggling with how to organise your goals/tasks you want to achieve for the next month, then prioritising your goals is crucial.

DO NOT SKIP THIS SECTION.

First things first, write down all of you of your goals for the next month. This can include anything you want to buy, how you want to look, how much money you want to have saved, everything. Remember this is just a goal for one month, you need to be realistic, sometimes things will go to plan and sometimes they won’t.

Recently I have found that some goals I have set myself, I haven’t succeeded, which is okay. The healthy way I have approached this is by altering the goals which will make them more achievable.

For example, since January I have had a goal to be able to run 10k without stopping for a breath, as I have asthma and find it hard to run for a while. Since then I have altered my goal to run as far as I can without stopping to take a breath, 3x a week. It’s a more realistic goal, and I can carefully monitor my progress without the pressure of hitting a certain goal.

Sometimes it’s about breaking down the goal, to make it easier and more achievable for you.

So how do we prioritize the goals?

Prioritize your goals based on urgency, importance, and feasibility. Identify which goals are time-sensitive or critical to your overall objectives. Break larger goals into smaller, actionable steps to make them more manageable.

Ultimately, prioritizing your goals allows you to focus your time and energy on what matters most, increasing your chances of success and fulfilment.

No.4 - Habits

Changing habits and behaviour patterns requires effort. It involves rewiring neural pathways, and it’s essential to stay mindful of your daily actions and intentionally shape them to align with your desired identity.

However, it’s also crucial not to overwhelm yourself. Attempting to establish multiple new habits simultaneously can be challenging. While it’s possible to work on more than one habit at a time, taking on too much each month may lead to burnout or inconsistency in following through.

The ‘Monthly Planning’ section serves as a versatile hub for noting holidays, significant dates, or upcoming trips. As a meticulous planner, I acknowledge that this section doesn’t cover everything comprehensively.
